Who Are We?
Tendring Families First is a local Charity providing early intervention and holistic support for children and families across one of the most deprived districts in the UK, Tendring.
Our support helps hundreds of families struggling with multiple complex issues including poverty, family breakdown, isolation, mental health and behavioural challenges.
Who Do We Help?
Tendring Families First works with the Child and their Families along with other key stakeholders including schools and multi-agency professionals. We primarily focus on children aged 5-11 years, as there is now a substantial body of evidence to support the argument that meeting the needs of Families and children at the earliest opportunity will develop the resilience and self-efficacy for good outcomes. Early Help is about taking action as soon as possible to tackle problems for children and families before they become entrenched and more difficult to reverse. Early Help provides the right support at the right time and done well, supports children, young people, and their parents and carers to build their resilience, so that problems do not escalate, and they are able to thrive and live happily in their communities.

Tendring Families First key priorities are: Strengthening Parental Capacity, Improving Family Relationships, Improving Emotional Well-Being & Mental Health, Improved School Attendance & Attainment & Improved Self Esteem & Confidence.

- Theraplay – Therapist & Dyadic Development Psychotherapist to offer Attachment focused therapy for children who have suffered ‘Trauma’

- Psychologist – Offering Brief Solution Focused Therapy
- Parenting Programmes – to include Parenting Together & Triple P Fearless – Anxiety
- Therapeutic 1:1 Support for Identified Children.
